Specifically I am talking about the Sony KDL-46Z4100. Will this tv work in India? Would I need to buy any special adapters?

Most US TVs are NTSC only, You will need to check the specs, but unless it says multi-standard or NTSC/PAL it will probably not work.

yes it will work with cable box or satellite box also dvd and video .
