I'm 20 years old and a college student in the USA. I already have a passport and I can take care of the traveling stuff myself. Thanks ahead of time!

You need to talk to someone who lives there. TVs made for the US run on 110 to 120 volt alternating current at a frequency of 60 Hertz (60 cycles per second). If the line voltage and frequency does not match you would need a hefty converter to power it and that converter would have to output 60 Hertz. THEN there is the problem of the TV channels. They might not use the same TV channels or method of broadcasting them. I would suggest you buy the TV there. It would be a lot less trouble. Same goes for any appliances especially refrigerators, washing machines, dryers and the like that use motors.

I am planning to buy a Laptop with TV tuner card in Japan. If I take the laptop to India, will I be able to use the TV tuner card? Or do I need any convertors to make it work? Please let me know if there are any other way. In japan the TV standard is NTSC and in India it is PAL. Will this must be taken into consideration while buying the TV tuner card?

no, the games regionalized, meaning xbox 360 games from india only work on 360 from india. so i recommend taking your USA 360 and buy whatever games you need from the US and then head out to india.

You need to buy a A/C current travel adapter kit that has all the adapters for using your lap top and other electrical appliances be it a razor or what ever. If you use the lap top or any thing for US electric it will burn it out with out the correct travel adapter. I'm going to India soon and I'm not really sure what the voltage difference is from America. I've heard that it can fry a lot of American electronics. Is it all right to use my Inspiron 1545's Current charger while i'm in India or will I have to be without a computer?

You need to buy a A/C current travel adapter kit that has all the adapters for using your lap top and other electrical appliances be it a razor or what ever. If you use the lap top or any thing for US electric it will burn it out with out the correct travel adapter. Look at your power brick (charger, box) and look for information. If you see Input: 110-240V or something like that then you should be fine. Also depending on where you going you might want to get a socket A/B to socket C/D/M converter. Basicly the prongs are different.

unless you have done something completely out of line the Dell charging bricks are good from 90v>220v both 50 and 60 cycle. There should be no problem (I think I'd have fried one of mine by now with 20+ years of international work) Now don't expect to use power blocks for CD/DVD players and even check the AC phone charger you plan to use.

The voltage in India is 240v 50hz as against 110v in us. Most mains adapters have an input range of 100v to 240v. 50-60hz you may have to get a plug pin adapter though To be sure have a look at your mains adapter and see what the input voltage is. they all display it

It will also be able to play Indian DVD's and CD's only with the lastest software which is Version 2.35. I am feeding the telephone input through an Indian caller ID machine to the panasonic set. Can anyone help in tuning the panasonic set so that the caller ID works in it. The panasonic set number is KX-TG6074B. This must be some kind of software programming. Probably that needs a crack. Can someone help.

I recently purchased x 540 speakers from USA and brought it to india for my home theatre setup. I directly connected to the power source and unable to power the subwoofer. I then realised and bought 120 converter and tried again to power up my subwoofer. No results...have anyone experienced the same before? is there a way to fix it?

I'm sure there is a way to fix it. It sounds like the AC power converter is incorrect. A subwoofer draws the most current, so if something isn't quite right, it will be the first to not work correctly. I'll check more into this for you tomorrow, though could you help by telling me what power deliver system India uses? 120v at 60hz as in the U.S? Perhaps the converter isn't capable of converting and providing the necessary level of current to the audio circuit. If you would like, e-mail the details to me, and I will ask my electronics instructor in class tomorrow what it will take to make the conversion. Good luck

ya it will but you need a different power adapter. The outlets in India have a greater wattage than the power outlets in America. You can just go to any store(target, walmart) and ask for a power adapter because you're going out of the country, and they'll probably know what you need. ya it will but you need a different power adapter. The outlets in India have a greater wattage than the power outlets in America. You can just go to any store(target, walmart) and ask for a power adapter because you're going out of the country, and they'll probably know what you need. If you don't get this adapter, then it will fry the system. You should just google how many watts a plug in India has, and then buy the adapter for that plug

yes it will work.did you buy any games for it? because if you did,the games that you bought in america will only work on that wii.the games you buy in india will not work on your wii.trust me.one time i wanted to get this game from europe because it had more content.so i got it from amazon.com and when it got here i tried to play it but it didnt work.so i called nintendo and they said that games from other continents wont work on your america wii.so you should stock up on games that you want.i just thaught id tell you so ya know you could actually enjoy your wii

Yes, it will work in India. Although, the outlets maybe different so you might have to purchase an adapter. The games that you buy from India won't work, I repeat won't work on your American Wii. So that might become a problem.

I bought this phone in UK and planning to take to india. This phone is a DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephone) phone with GAP (General Access Profile) as against DTMF / FSK in India. Any converter require for proper working of this cordless phone?

Basically, a phone intended for UK will work in India except may be for the caller ID. India has different caller ID system. DTMF / FSK is a caller ID system and if you won't subscribe caller ID, you have nothing to worry. A newer DECT is FSK II. DECT is for the RF part of the telephone to link the base and handset, it has nothing to do with the telephone standards in India.

I have planned to buy Sony Ericsson W595a Walkman mobile in US. It supports WCDMA (UMTS) / GSM technology. Will it work in India? Should I verify something else before buying to make sure that it works in India?

It should work just fine. Maybe you will have to unlock it (remove a simlock) if it is locked for a particular network in the states but it won't be a big deal. You should be OK.

hi guys iam planning to buy Sony KDL-32V4000 lcd tv from UK and want to take it to india. The question is will it work in india or am i just wasting my money? Please reply ASAP.

YES, same PAL tv systems also 220-240V. only things, you need analog tuner. not DIGITAL tuner , new tv from UK some only DTS . so ask for analog tuner model. ( from model no , i won knows is DTS or analog, ask the sales people over there ). Sony is very good TV.

I have asked this question to one of the Currys representative and he said that it will work. How are you planning to take them to India? How about the Custom duty charges? Will it become more than what it would cost in India, after adding all the charges?
