I have a sony ericsson s710a which i have got from the cingular network of U.S .. The company personnel had given me the unlock code so that it can work in India with any other networks......... The problem iam facing is that it works only with Hutch in India......... I came to know that by changing the software of the phone it will work with all the networks.......... Can any one suggest a solution for this so that my phone works with any network in India...............

NO...The (a) in S710a is for American providers only. You might be able to flash the ROM to a S710, but it's a one time thing which may or may not work. Good luck... BD

my friend had the same problem, so we guys figured this out that its because the unlock code provided by cingular us is just for unlocking ur phone's network lock but the sim lock has not been removed as of till now check that out with some local sony ericsson shop or any high street vendor he might help you out with this problem for sure.. other thing is the simple solution of changing the rom but u must know how to do it.. don't try unless u have done that earlier....
